San Antonio Lake Camp Out

We are camping fools lately. We took the kids on their first camping experience up to San Antonio Lake with the Bennett's "Lake Week" extravaganza up in Paso Robles. WOW!...What a blast that was! There was about 30 of us there at one time or another and the kids just loved it, swimming in the lake from 9am to 6pm for three days, and trust me they wanted more. Sleeping in the tent was an interesting experience to say the least with my youngest. Larry could not make the first night because of work the next morning so it was just me and my two little ones to forge on through the night alone. Honey did not take the camping in the tent so well, she screamed all night and the next morning people had a nick-name for her, Screamin' Demon! Isn't that sweet. However the next night she slept without a peep, Thank goodness. Of course when Larry was there she was fine, just my luck, right? Steve took us all out on the boat to wake board and dragged us along on the water weenie. Larry got up on the wake board for the first time, awesome, and I just did what steve called "Weenie Time". You'll see, check out the pics!

This is what we call "Weenie Time". Wendi, Monique, Me, Christine, and Alisha.
The kids on the Weenie, sorry its hard to see.
Awe yes the sand, it had to be everywhere.
Mason, had a blast in the water too!
She's a supermodel in training...except who's training her. Check out that pose!
Mason and Nyah, sweet friends.

More weenie time...Branden, Brittney, Nyah, Me, and Mitchel.
Our campsite, there were 7 tents all together, I could only get 5 of them in the pic.
Sheer delight, she loved the water.
Just me and the kids came back to camp early to get a nap and found a deer right in the middle of it.
I got an apple and it took it right out of my hand, so cool. And then later did I read the sign "Do Not Feed The Animals". Oh well too late for that.
Honey with Steve driving his boat.
We were all tuckered out by the end of the day!

Father's Day

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so, He called it ... Dad.

Camping for two, please.

Ok, so check this out ladies, or gents if your a dude...Larry and I went camping. Not impressed yet? Ok...by ourselves...like without kids. Yeah, I know, crazy I tell you. So we had planned on going to Yosemite but we only had a few days and just not enough time to truly enjoy ourselves. So we made the long trip to my parents house where they graciously watched our two munchkins for the day and night and drove up Mormon Immigrant Trail, to Kit Karson and stayed at a campsite on Silver Lake.
B-E-A-U-TIFUL!
We just sat around and Relaxed, so nice, and even though we were slightly under prepared for the 8000 foot elevation or the 20 or so degree temperature that night we were hooked and want to go again. Its silly though that as we were "relaxing" we couldn't stop thinking about the kids and how much more fun it would be the next time when we got to take them along.

On our way up we stopped off to take in the beautiful view. And yes that is snow, in June.

I couldn't stop saying how amazing the views were, wouldn't you agree?
We were really roughing it right?...with our air mattress and all.
Our little campsite.
Cooking some grub. We had the fire rollin' that night.

Silver Lake, and yes it was Cold.

So Long Single Mom!

Hurray I am no longer a single mom. Well I guess I was never technically a single mom, but it sure felt like it not having Larry around for 6+ months. Parenting is not a one person job. As most of you know and for thoes who didn't know, Larry was finishing up his first year as a CHP Officer in West L.A. The kids and I moved back home to Arroyo Grande late in December of 2007 and waited for Larry until his transfer to Santa Barbra took effect June 2nd 2008. It was a long six months let me tell you...oh wait I am. Anyway Larry's last day in L.A. was Tuesday and now he is back here to stay, thank goodness. I just want to thank The Hutchinson's (look under family and friends to view blog) for taking such great care of my husband when I could not and opening your home to him without question or worry.

Now what what to do?....ummm hopfully I don't get pregnant!
